Understanding Google AdSense

Google AdSense allows webmasters to dynamically serve content relevant advertisements on web pages. If the visitor clicks one of the AdSense ads served to the website, the website owner is credited for the referral. Google's AdSense program essentially allows approved websites to dynamically serve Google's pay-per-click AdWord results.

Website maintenance related to AdSense is very easy and requires very little effort. Webmasters need only to insert a Google generated java script into the web page or website template. Google's spider parses the AdServing website and serves ads that relate to the website's content. Google uses a combination of keyword matching and context analysis to determine what ads should be served. The java script calls the ad from Google and will ensure that ads are served each time a visitor goes to the web page.

Early on Google implemented a filtering system that allowed webmasters to prevent a specific domain's ads from being served on any websites in their account. Ad blocking meant that webmasters could prevent their competitor's ads from being dynamically served on their websites.

Google provides a wide variety of ad formats to match the most suitable option with a website. Webmasters can select from a handful of preformatted towers, inline rectangles, banners and buttons. The ad boxes can be modified by webmasters to resemble the website's color scheme. Examples of how different the various text boxes and color schemes appear on similarly themed sites can be viewed at:

http://www.ringtones-central.com (scroll to the bottom)

or

http://www.police-central.com (download left side)
http://www.police-supplies.com (scroll to the bottom)

Ads can be geo-targeted based on the visitor's location. Advertisements containing content in English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Japanese, or Spanish are all available.

Channels
Google recently introduced channels, enhancing AdSense reporting. When a channel is selected Google modifies the java script to include additional tracking. The additional tracking information allows webmasters to track a variety of metrics across their sites. Channels can be used to measure performance on various domains, differences in revenue with various ad sizes, or placement. By assigning each group of pages to a specific channel and comparing results in custom channel reports webmasters can work at increasing their AdSense revenue.

Optimizing
Google determines the content of the ads that are shown, webmasters serious about earning revenue from Google AdSense can use the following guidelines to optimize their website and ensure that targeted and relevant ads are served. If Google's spider has not crawled the site and determined the nature of the content, public service ads may be served. Public service ads will not accrue any AdSense revenue if clicked. As a result Google allows webmasters to designate alternate ads. Alternate ads allow webmasters to utilize the ad space in the event that Google is unable to serve targeted ads to the web page. By specifying an alternate image, HTML page, or ad server the advertising space can always being used effectively.

1.) Web page content on pages that ads are served should be static not dynamic.

2.) Ensure that the robot.txt does not prevent the web page from being spidered. Robots.txt file's will need to be removed or the following text will need to bedded to allow Google's content bot to crawl the site: User-agent: Media partners - Google

3.) If the website contains frames, select the ‘framed page’ checkbox when generating the ad layout code for that website.

4.) The body of the page and title of the page should contain contextual words that indicate a common theme on the web page.

Revenue Earned
Although Google doesn't disclose the exact revenue share or percentage that webmasters will earn, webmasters will receive a portion of the amount paid for clicks on Google ads on websites.

AdSense Conclusion:
Overall, Google AdWords can provide great supplemental income to webmasters with content sites. Implementing and maintaining Google AdSense program on a content site requires very little effort and can often bring a steady stream of additional revenue for webmasters.

Valuable Google Adsense Words Work Best When You Do These Two Things

There are few things that delight more than using a Google Adsense valuable keyword to post some content on your site and then watching your earnings dramatically climb on that particular site over the next few days. One of the reasons for this is that many times, most Google affiliates will tend to do so many different things without much effect. So whenever something works it really is a big deal.

Still there are two very important things you will need to do with your Google Adsense valuable adwords so that they work best for you, enabling you to milk them for all that they are worth and to fully maximize on your Adsense earnings at your site.

For a long time I made the mistake of ignoring these two very important key factors and the result was frustration and lack of clicks at my sites even when traffic was respectable.

Your Google Adsense Content Must Be Fascinating

Ensuring that the content generated from the valuable Google Adsense words that you decide to use is interesting and captivating, is a very tricky affair indeed. The consequences of dull content generated only for the purpose of using the valuable keywords are obvious. Nobody will want to read it, meaning that even the traffic that you generate will spend only a handful of milliseconds at your site. That means no clicks for your Google Adsense ads displayed on that particular page. Your ads on the other pages will also be affected. This is because visitors will do what everybody does when they come across boring content – they’ll click their way out of your site pronto, meaning that there is hardly any chance of them seeing alternate knock-out content that you may be displaying on other pages.

That’s the devastatingly terrible impact on your Google Adsense earnings of having even one page of boring content.

This is precisely the reason why the ideal situation would be to have several dozen keywords to choose from and then carefully selecting the most interesting article ideas from them. You can also explore effective techniques of selecting the most interesting article ideas from a limited selection of valuable Google Adsense keywords. Yet another option would be to use a low cost online writer to generate the ideas for you as well as write the articles for one low fee per article.

Post Incomplete Versions of Your Google Adsense Content Elsewhere

Posting incomplete versions of your Google Adsense valuable keyword articles at high traffic article sites can help you generate the sort of targeted traffic that can help you get lots of valuable clicks at your Adsense site.

You can go further and do some bulk email marketing using your valuable adwords content. And you do not necessarily need to spend any money. All you need is an opt-in email list of sorts which you can build up yourself or a safelist which you can quickly generate by joining relevant groups at Google groups and Yahoo groups.

I have found that traffic that I have generated from bulk email marketing activities have tended to be numerous, targeted and best of all they click like crazy at my Adsense ads. And again my bulk email marketing activities confirmed clearly that the more fascinating the content, the more clicks I ended up getting.

What to Do if Google Wrongly Bans You from AdSense

AdSense is a fantastic product that has provided many webmasters with a decent income. Some webmasters have even become millionaires on AdSense income alone.

It is understandable that Google are very strict when it comes to fraud. Webmasters who click on their own ads aren’t stealing from Google they’re stealing from the advertiser who has placed the ad with Google. If Google weren’t hot on finding and banning fraudsters their AdWord customer base would diminish as advertisers lost all faith in the scheme and choose another online advertising strategy.

Sometimes however Google gets it wrong and ban someone from their scheme who is innocent. Once Google ban you from AdSense it is notoriously difficult to prove your innocence and get accepted back onto the scheme.

It may be difficult but it’s not impossible.

How do I know this?

Well I was banned incorrectly by Google from AdSense and managed to prove my innocence, get reinstated and have been earning decent AdSense money ever since. If you find yourself in the same position hopefully reading my story will help you get re-instated on the AdSense programme.

OK lets start at the beginning. I’d built my first website and applied for AdSense. I didn’t hear anything for three weeks so I asked them if I could have an update via the Google website. Within 48 hours they sent the following reply.

Hello Paul Middleton,

Your AdSense account was found to be related to an account previously disabled for invalid click activity and we have therefore disabled your account. Publishers disabled for invalid click activity are not allowed further participation in AdSense and do not receive any further payment. The earnings on your account will be properly returned to the affected advertisers.

As outlined in our programme Terms and Conditions, Google reserves the right to terminate any publisher's participation at any time.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

Well I can assure you I was surprised and a bit upset. I’d never had an AdSense account in my life so how could my account be related to anything let alone an account previously disabled for invalid click activity!

I was at a loss. What could I do? I knew I was innocent but Google obviously thought otherwise. Google don’t provide a phone support line so I had no one to ask.

I trawled the AdSense forums for answers and various theories were given some seemed a bit far-fetched but one stuck a chord. ‘Possibly the previous owner of your domain was guilty of click fraud and now your domain is blacklisted’. This made some sense as I’d only purchased the domain a few weeks earlier. This had to be it.

I then thought of a reply that would go some way to proving my innocence and ended up sending the following.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the reply.

I have never had an active AdSense account so it can not have been me that had the 'invalid click activity'.

My only thought is that a previous owner of the domain makingonlinemoney.com had their account disabled for this??

Please see the whois data below which shows that I have only owned the domain since May this year. The domain was available and I have no idea who owned it before me. I can get godaddy.com to confirm this if required.

I am keen to try the AdSense programme and can assure you I will fully respect your Terms and Conditions and programme policies if accepted onto your scheme.

I would ask therefore that you enable the account if my site meets your criteria.

If you have any further questions regarding my ownership of the makingonlinemoney.com domain please let me know. As I said I will be happy to get further confirmation from godaddy.com if required.

Thanks & Rgds, Paul.

I didn’t get a reply for a week so I resent the above email. The next day I got the following from Google.

Re: Disapproved application.

Hello Paul,

Thank you for your email.

We apologise if the prior disapproval of your application was made in error.

We've now reviewed and approved your application. Please check for a separate application approval email for your records. The approval email also includes detailed instructions on how to access your new account and get started.

Great!! I was in and able to start making money with the AdSense scheme.

So what is my advice to people who get banned from AdSense incorrectly?

I have four points of advice for anyone unfortunate enough to be in the same position as me.

1. Be patient. – AdSense is constantly growing in terms of participants and the AdSense team gets thousands of requests a day regarding their scheme. Don’t be to upset if you don’t hear back from them in 48 hours. If a week has passed since your communication resend.

2. Be polite! – Quite often I hear of people banned from AdSense who go in with all guns blazing. I can understand that people are angry and frustrated by being accused of something they didn’t do but remember you’re dealing with human beings. Human beings don’t react positively to being ordered to do something or worse verbally abused. To increase your chances of a positive outcome be firm but polite at all times.

3. Provide evidence to back up your innocence. – If possible include evidence to help prove your innocence. I included my ‘whois’ data for my domain to prove I had only owned the domain a few weeks. I also offered to provide any further information they required.

4. Never give up! If you’re innocent don’t give up. If after emailing them several times using the above techniques you don’t get anywhere find the details of Google’s head office for your area (use Google!) give them a call and ask to speak to the AdSense team. Write letters offer to meet them in person.

If you’ve been banned from AdSense and it was your fault the above technique won’t work. There is however a common sense of getting back in to the scheme that has worked in the past for people caught cheating. That’s another article though.

Adsense Affiliate Free Blog Secrets

One online combination in recent times that has proved red hot is that of Adsense affiliates and free blogs.

Countless online entrepreneurs and many an affiliate businessperson have demonstrated just how possible it is to join the Adsense program and then launch a number of free blogs and end up generating a huge sum of money almost effortlessly on a monthly basis.

Some Adsense affiliates have used a strategy where they have launched dozens of blogs based on carefully picked out keyword phrases covering the most lucrative keyword phrases. These keyword phrases are lucrative in terms of generating the highest click value Adsense ads and they are also the sort of non-competitive keyword phrases that are popular enough to generate a sizeable amount of traffic via leading search engines. This is the sort of combination that has proved most profitable to many an Adsense affiliate.

What has attracted many Adsense affiliates to this amazing business model is the fact that there is virtually no cash investment required. Incidentally many and Adsense Affiliate has quickly found out that it is a lot easier to get away with a blog that is hosted free than a web site that is hosted free. Blogs are mainly judged on the value of information that they provide.

So the only investment the Adsense affiliate has to make when using free-hosted blogs is the time spent researching and churning out the keyword rich content for their free blogs. The Adsense affiliate continues to break all sorts of revenue records using free blogs.

Adsense Secret

Pst! Wanna know some Adsense secrets? The only secret is that there are no secrets per se!

Do a search for Adsense secrets and you will be bombarded by a myriad of ads by trying to sell you the answers to making lots of money with Adsense.

Before you buy anything, my advise to you would be to do some research on a search engine and a bit of common sense. There are literally hundreds of forums where you can pick up valuable information, as well as hundreds of articles that have been written on the subject of Adsense.

Most of the answers are out there for you to find it you will put in a little bit of work. If you buy any of the ebooks available out there, you might find one little nugget of information that you may not have seen anywhere else, but I promise you: most of the time everything is out here on the Internet - all you have to do is search for it. Here are some of the search terms that I personally have used with great results:

increase adsense income
increase your adsense income
adsense experiments
adsense adsense tricks
adsense tips

What I can tell you from my own experience is this:

1. Ads at the top of the page and on the left of the page perfom better than any other ads. (Take a look at the "heatmap" from the Google link below)

2. Ads without background colour and borders perfom better than ads within borders with background colour.

3. Ads within content pages perform better than any other ads.

4. A search box on every page gives you another chance for earning Adsense income.

5. A blue link at the top of the ad, the ad in black, and the url also in black so that it blends in with the ad copy - also tends to perform well. A black url makes the link stand out and gives you a better chance of someone clicking on it.

Google has brought out some great Adsense optimization tips. You can read it here: Google Adsense optimization tips

Experiment with your settings and see which brings you the best results. Google's reporting has become a lot better in the last month or so, so you should instantly be able to see which ads result in better CTR.

To increase your site traffic, which obviously will increase your Adsense income, the best way to get traffic is to have fresh content at your site. Write your own articles and submit it to article directories like Go Articles etc. To find more article directories, just do a search for "free article directory submissions" on a search engine like Google.

Another way would be to publish articles by other authors that are relevant to your site content. You can find free articles all over the web by once again doing a search for e.g. "free site content".

Do this on a regular basis and watch your traffic (and your income) increase.

How to Increase Your Adsense Revenue

If you're a webmaster, you've probably heard about Google's Adsense. Perhaps you're even earning from it already. This article will show you a method to increase your Adsense revenue dramatically.

Google's Adsense allows webmasters to place links from Google's Adwords advertisers on their webpages by inserting a special code. When a visitor clicked on a link, the webmaster gets a cut of the profit Google made from the advertiser. The unique feature about Adsense is that the links it generates on your webpage are relevant to your page content. Thus, your keywords and topics become very important determinant for the type of links that will appear on your webpage.

There are only two factors that determine how much a webmaster can make from Adsense. The first factor is the number of visitors who click on the links. The more people who clicked on the links, the more you make. Naturally, this means that the more targetted traffic to the website, the more you'll make. This is where most webmasters focus their efforts on.

The second factor is the value of the links they clicked on. Here's where you can make a great difference to your earnings from Adsense and is our focus in this article.

Let's take a look at how this works:

Suppose you have 1000 visitors to your website and you get 2% conversion, that is 20 people clicked on your Adsense links. Let's assume that your Adsense links pay you only 50 cents per click. So you earn $10 dollars.

Now let's see how much this same traffic will make for you if your Adsense links pay you $5 per click. For the same number of clicks, you make $100 dollars. That's a ten-fold increased in revenue!

Well, that makes sense, you said, but how am going to determine what type of links appear on my webpages?

Good questions!

Here's where you'll need to do a little research and here's a tool to help you do just that.

Go over to http://www.pixelfast.com/overture/ and you'll get a tool that shows you how much each keyword is worth. While this tool is for Overture's keywords, we can safely assume that this reflects the keyword values for Googles Adwords as well. Once you've found the keywords with high monetary values, you can optimize your webpages for them. This will increase your chances of having these high value keyword links appearing on your webpages.

Some people have actually made extensive researches on Google's top paying keywords and found that one or two keywords are worth almost $100! However, generally most keywords are valued at between 50 cents and $5 dollars. Some keywords like "internet marketing" may fetch up to $7 dollars and "mortgage" pays up to $10 dollars.

These values may change from time to time but they generally hover around these levels. Naturally, this information is priceless and you'll have to pay to get it. I feel it is worth every cent you paid for it. You can check it out at http://theselfimprovementsite.com/links/top-paying-keywords.html.

And there you have it! A single factor that can radically increase your Adsense revenue!

The AdSense Formula for Making Money

I often get asked what the secret is to making money with Google's AdSense program. This often comes from people who are dreaming of setting up websites chock full of high-paying keywords for particular niche subjects and then sitting back and watching the money roll in. "What's the magic formula?" they ask me. If they're non-technical, I point them straight to my book, Make Easy Money with Google, and assure them that they'll learn everything they need from it. They may think it's hard, but it's not.

But what about the technical people? By this I mean the people who've already set up a blog or website, who have registered domain names, who are comfortable with basic Internet terminology and concepts. What is the "AdSense formula"?

The only AdSense formula that you need to know is this:

earnings = number of clicks * average price per click

This is what I call the Fundamental AdSense Formula because you can derive almost every AdSense "secret" directly or indirectly from this formula. Do you want to earn more with AdSense? You have two ways of doing it:

1. Increase the number of clicks, and/or

2. Increase the average price per click

Your earnings will only go up if you do one or the other, and ideally both. It's an obvious formula, yes, but it's amazing how many people lose sight of it in their quest for increased AdSense earnings.

Increasing the Number of AdSense Clicks

Increasing the number of times the ads on your site or blog are clicked is the most obvious strategy. There are two general strategies you can follow:

1. Increase the traffic to the site, and/or

2. Adjust the ads to make them more "clickable"

Getting traffic is hard and takes time, so don't look at it as a quick fix. The best way to get traffic is to provide useful, unique content and to rank highly in search engine rankings for keywords related to that content. In other words, use standard search engine optimization techniques. DO NOT "buy" traffic or use "link farms" or other dubious techniques. Other tips for getting traffic:

1. Publish articles, even free ones, with links back to your site.

2. Include a link to your site in the signature at the bottom of your emails or in any forum postings you make (if the forum allows it).

3. Participate in forums/groups related to the content of your site or blog. The key is to participate, not lurk, and don't just post messages promoting your site.

4. Add comments (relevant ones only, please) to other blogs, you can usually link back to yours. (This won't help your search engine rankings, but it may allow others who are reading those comments to find your own site.)

5. Syndicate your content (trivial if you have a blog) and make sure that the content is registered with syndication aggregators.

6. List your site in relevant directories.

Adjusting the ads is something you can do almost immediately:

1. Position the ads on the page in order to make them more noticeable. Google even publishes a helpful heat map (see https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html ) for AdSense publishers.

2. Choose the best AdSense ad format that works for your site.

3. Change the ad colors either to make the ads blend in with your site or to make them stand out. Again, it varies depending on the site.

Whatever you do, DO NOT ENTICE VISITORS TO CLICK THE ADS. Google is very strict about this, see the AdSense program policies (found at https://www.google.com/adsense/policies ) for the details.

Increasing the Average AdSense Price Per Click

Increasing the average price per click you receive from AdSense is the other strategy for increasing your overall AdSense earnings. You can do this by:

1. Carefully targeting your content, and/or

2. Filtering out and avoiding low-paying ads

Content targeting isn't just about creating relevant, unique content. It's also making sure that that content is written to target the higher-paying keywords associated with a given topic. This means:

1. Figuring out which keyword variations for that topic pay more. Often the more specialized variations and phrases pay more than the "generic" terms.

2. Ensuring that the keyword density of the content favors the higher-paying keyword variations. See http://www.MakeEasyMoneyWithGoogle.com/vioxx-lawsuit.html for an example of well-targeted ads due to appropriate keyword density.

And to reduce the occurrence of lower-paying ads, consider these two strategies:

1. Use AdSense's competitive filter mechanism to screen out the ads that you don't want.

2. Show fewer ads on a page. The fewer ads you show, the more the higher-paying ads get displayed and clicked.

Many publishers also report that their earnings increase if they remove ads completely from pages with few or no clicks. Again, the "less is more" strategy favors the higher-paying ads.

There's No Magic

As you can see, there's no magic involved to increasing your AdSense earnings. The Fundamental AdSense Formula is easy to understand, but that doesn't mean it's easy to apply the formula. It takes time and effort to do it, just like most things.

The Sensible Way To Earn Money With Google AdSense!

Dear friends,

Google AdSense has rapidly gained a status of an independent online business model. Many average people with a little knowledge of HTML are earning a fortune with AdSense.

The AdSense comes under the category of "pay per click affiliate" programs. This means you get paid when someone click on the ad which resides on your website.

There are many reason for the success of the AdSense program. The very first reason is it is launched by Google, the leaders of Search Engines. After establishing themselves in the crowd of Search Engines they had a crown of credibility with them.

The second reason for the popularity lies in the fact that Google is not concerned about the amount of traffic you are getting to your website.

They are more concerned about content. If the content is really good your site will generate visitors over a period of time. This is unlike many other pay per click affiliate programs, which have a condition on the number of visitors you are getting per day, before your application gets approved.

This creates an interesting situation for online entrepreneurs. The more the traffic they generate to their site, the more is the possibility to get the AdSense ad clicked and they get paid.

Now Google also benefits from this. Since AdSense ads are nothing but the same ads from the Google AdWords account holders, Google charges the AdWords account holder of that particular ad which is being clicked and pays a small portion to the webmaster on whose website the AdSense ad resides.

The amount which Google charges the AdWords account holder and pays the AdSense account holder is determined entirely by the online popularity of the given "keyword" for which the ad was written by the AdWords account holder.

This is where the real opportunity has come up for online newcomers. Most people put a lot of energy in finding "high paying" keywords or simply purchase a database of "high paying keywords", create a small website around the keyword, put AdSense code in it and start generating traffic which might click on the ad and expect to get paid high.

But here is the real kicker! The amount which you get paid is dependent of 5 different factors. Some of the factors are out of the control of the webmaster (you).

For example if a keyword phrase pays something around $14 to $15 per click. Most people think that even if they get a 1% click through rate, that is 1 person clicks out of 100 visiting their website, Google will put $14 in my account. Yes it's true, but not always!

The amount which you get paid, depends on which ad gets shown on your website. The ad which gets shown on your website is dependent upon the relevancy and lot more other factors.

The true success with AdSense lies not on targeting only "high paying" keywords, but with focusing on creating highly informative content and getting repeat visitors. Google loves content. If you provide it on your website you will automatically get more visitors and increase the possibility of high click through rate which leads to more income to you and Google.

So, learn to build traffic first and then fine tune your website with AdSense script to start earning immediately. The true success with AdSense is with generating content rich pages and attracting traffic. "High paying keywords" is a secondary factor with AdSense

AdSense is the registered trademark of Google Inc.

How To Find Your Own Valuable Adsense Keywords For Free

There’s tons of money to be made from the Google Adsense program for web masters and blog owners. That’s why “the vultures are circling” and folks are getting sucked in with all sorts of offers that promise instant high Adsense revenue. One of the top-selling products these days are those lists with the highest-paying Google Adsense keywords. Many people are desperately searching out for these lists and many will not hesitate to pay for them, especially because there are some keywords that are reputed to be capable of earning $100 per click.

I’m not saying all the lists are bad? In fact a good number of them are genuine and are created by high earning Adsense webmasters looking to maximize on their profits and to get something back from their time-consuming valuable keywords research efforts. Nothing wrong with that, in fact it makes perfect business sense. Except that you don’t really need those lists, there is a better proven way to increase your Adsense earnings.

The Adsense Secret Is All About Finding A Niche

The most important Adsense secret you will discover is that to make money and be successful, all you need to do is to stick to the basic rules for success in online marketing. The basics are that you need to find a niche that is not so competitive and one which you can contribute something special to based on your past experience, knowledge and skills. Everything else will then fall into place after this. Virtually every subject and topic you can think of will have relevant and valuable keywords.

This is in sharp contrast to the approach being encouraged by list-sellers. Which is to start by finding high-paying valuable keywords and then creating sites or blogs based on them. To start with Google do not like the idea because one of their rules is that you should not create a site or blog for the sole purpose of making money from Adsense. Of course it is easy to get round this one by quickly creating some products around your site and you really don’t need to care whether they sell or not, but who are you fooling?

The World Wide Web is increasingly busy and increasingly competitive and what this means is that niches are becoming increasingly vital and critical to online success.

You Will Earn More From Adsense With Multiple Sites/Blogs

Once you’ve found your niche, you can create a number of different sites narrowing your niche even further in different directions. I’ve used this strategy very successfully and I find that I am constantly coming up with new ideas for new sites without leaving my area of expertise. Of course I create relevant links between my different sites so as to maximize on the traffic that I receive. The important word here is “relevant”. There is nothing that puts off folks more than clicking on a link only to find that it is barely relevant to the information they are seeking. You’re wasting their time and they will not appreciate it. Better not to link at all in the first place.

What some high-earning Adsense folks have done is to create numerous blogs (some up to 50 and even more.) This strategy makes sense because the more pages you have with Adsense ads on them, the higher the chances of somebody clicking on some of the ads and therefore the higher your potential income. What I can’t imagine is how they manage to keep all the different blogs fed with quality content. I once tried this strategy with just one or two sites and it was very exhausting getting content for sites outside my area of expertise. There are increasing reports of incidents of pirated online content and I guess you now understand part of the reason why.

When you stick to one subject, keeping all your blogs fed with content becomes a breeze. You simply take one idea and modify it or slant it differently for the different sites. Even more important, it is easy to use the same valuable Adsense keywords for all the sites as you discover them.

A Free Tool To Help You Find Valuable Adsense Keywords

Here is a valuable tool that I use myself to constantly research valuable Adsense keywords. While you do not need those valuable Adsense keywords lists, you need to constantly research valuable Adsense keywords for yourself. Top Adsense earners spend a vast majority of their time doing this. You need to do the same if you want to be earn a serious income from the Adsense program.

The Truth - Adsense Click Fraud Can NOT be Stopped

Your probably reading this article because you use Google Adwords to bring traffic to your website, or your a click fraudster yourself, wanting to see what kind of information I have for you. Most of you click fraudsters will think that I have no idea what I am talking about, and that I do not know your methods. Well, trust me buddy, I KNOW ALL ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU DO.

If you are new to the click fraud scene, here is an example:

1. Scumbag puts Google Adsense ads on his website.

2. The scumbag then proceeds to cheat Google Adsense by creating false clickthroughs and impressions, in return earning him a pretty nice profit, because he isn't even working on his website, just generating false traffic.

All of you people that run campaigns through Google Adwords are thinking, "This guy has no idea what he is talking about, Google has everything under control and they even state so publicly!"

WOW! What kind of pay per click company would admit that they DO NOT have click fraud under control? I wonder what would happen to their business immediately following that statement.

Estimates say that nearly 20% of all clicks for Adsense are illegitimate. In my honest opinion I believe this number to be around 30-35% from some of the things I have seen.

Alrite, now the big question, how are they doing it?

There are a number of ways that people are cheating, including the 'click groups' from India that click on your ads for you and create big pay checks as long as you pay them their $0.50 an hour so they can buy bread for their family.

But I'm going to show you the technical way that Google Adsense is cheated, not poor people clicking ads. I'm talking about extremely smart programmers that create hitbots to cheat Adsense. And, NO, I'm not talking about that piece of garbage 'CACA' or Clicking Agent that you find on Google. I am talking about PRIVATE programs and scripts that are only used by private groups.

How do these scripts get away undetected you ask?

Simple, let's actually take a look at Google's click fraud protection (This is what I have summed up, I seriously don't believe they have anything other protection because people are still cheating using these methods as you read this article.)

If you actually take a look at Google's Adsense code when it is on your webpage you will find the URL that is used to retrieve ads. (Right-Clck your ad Iframe and click 'View Page Information' or something similar.)

Here is an example of the URL that you will find:

http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-2521202633232871&dt=1124847235453&lmt=1124631699&format=468x60_as&output=html&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yoursite.com%2F&color_bg=ECF8FF&color_text=000000&color_link=0033FF&color_url=0033FF&color_border=DDAAAA&cc=59&u_h=768&u_w=1024&u_ah=738&u_aw=1024&u_cd=32&u_tz=-240&u_java=true

Now let's decode this up a little bit, shall we?

client=ca-pub-2521202633232871 - Your client code, this tells Google who to assign the click-through money to.

dt=1124847235453 - Javascript, if you use the command google_date = new Date(); document.write(google_date.getTime()) --- Which generates 1124847235453.

This shows you the number of milliseconds since midnite January 1, 1970. This is what seems to be Google's biggest automated proxy clicker fraud prevention. Doesn't seem too hard to generate with 2 lines of code now does it?

lmt=1124631699 - The last time your webpage was updated. LMT stands for Last Modified Time, pretty easy Javascript to generate this one too - document.write(document.lastModified); --- Which generates 1124631699.

(Notice I'm skipping a bunch, that's because they are just showing the type of ad, colors, and size that you are using.)

cc=59 - Seems to be some random number based on the screen width, height, and color scheme. I've seen this number go from 20 all the way up to 400. I'm sure they don't use this to reliably track click fraud.

u_h=768 - Height of your screen settings.

u_w=1024 - Width of your screen settings.

u_ah=738 - Your available screen height.

u_aw=1024 - Your available screen width.

u_cd=32 - Color scheme on windows, e.g. 32-bit.

u_tz=-240 - Your monitor refresh rate or something else that isn't important, I've never seen it not -240.

u_java=true - Just seeing if you have java enabled.

There are some other variables that are sometimes in the URL such as 'u_his=' this means how many pages you have visited since you started up your browser. There's also some MIME type checks and how many plugins you have installed, but these variables come up very rarely. I think they are only meant for Netscape/Firefox browsers.

Now that we have 'decoded' the supposed unbeatable Google Adsense code, what do you think about click fraud? You still think it is rare?

After randomizing all the data and sending an automated query to their Adsense URL, all the scumbag has to do is parse out all of Google's click URL's and click one of them, giving him a click through. This can all be easily faked with even a Visual Basic program. A newbie programmer could in-fact cheat Google Adsense without much knowledge.

Alrite you say, they beat the javascript code detection but doesn't Google use cookies so they can't do this?

No, Google does not use cookies for Adsense.

Well what about IP-tracking? Someone can't have that many proxies!

There are click groups that leave these programs running on their computer. They each randomly click each other's URL's automatically. The person running the program doesn't even have to do anything, but he is still contributing to the success of their group and himself.

Does that sound too far-fetched? I am telling you that there are click groups that do this now and have been since the old Linkshare PPC days in 1999. Yes, if you were an advertiser on Linkshare back around 1999-2002, you got RAPED.

And that isn't all. I have read on the internet that there is currently over 100,000 people infected in the United States alone with trojan proxy servers. These proxy servers run on random ports so that Google can't just do a simple port 8080 or 80 check on it to see if it's a proxy. The majority of these proxy servers are used for credit card fraud, but a lot of them are also used to cheat Google Adsense and other pay per click programs. These proxies are at-home users that look like normal dial-up, cable, and dsl users from all across the world, but mainly United States. There is NO WAY to prove that they are a proxy.

Random User-Agent strings is another tactic that is often used by click fraudsters. This makes Google think that a lot of different browsers are clicking the links, just keeping them further from finding out the truth.

On a side note, you may be thinking that the new Yahoo! pay per click program may be the way to go. I checked into their protection and guess what? They are only using ONE of Google's protections and that is the Javascript GetTime. They are still in Beta though and this may change, but who knows?

To the cheaters: The benefits of cheating are short. Eventually you will be caught for what you are doing and maybe even sued by Google. There is a ton of money to be made legally with Adsense and I suggest that you stop cheating. Who am I to tell you to stop? I use to be one of you! Back when I was 13-14 I was making programs like the ones you guys are using now. You guys probably used one of my programs at one time. I am happy to say that those days of mine are all in the past now, and I am making a good amount of money LEGALLY with Adsense and other affiliate programs. Work hard guys and you will reap the benefits 100 times what you make cheating.

To the advertisers: You people that use Google Adwords now see that it is actually not very hard to cheat you out of your money, so be careful and MAKE SURE that you use a click fraud protection script such as ClickDefense. To lower most of your click fraud, just don't put your ads in the Content Network, only stay on Google's sponsored search results. Only Google gets paid when someone clicks the search results sponsored ads and nobody wants to cheat to make Google anymore money do they? Check the stock, it's currently at 279.58 a share.

To summarize my article I just want to state that no one should use this information for cheating Adsense and I am not responsible for your actions if you choose to do so. You will be caught because Google will evolve and get smarter, eventually.

7 Powerful Ways To Make Money From Adsense Using Only Free Tools

There is really no doubting that there are amazing incomes currently being made on Google Adsense and the really interesting thing is that even relatively small sites and blogs are finding new ways to make money from their Adsense sites every day.

Actually there are a lot of increasingly creative ways to make money and maximize on Adsense earnings that are being discovered and also being put to use every day. And what’s even more fascinating is the fact that most of these tools being used don’t cost anything. They are actually free. Here are 7 of the most effective currently being used.

a) Ways to make money from Adsense by Distributing articles through ezine and article announcement lists

Some of the most effective methods ways to make money from Adsense clicks involve the simple step of just increasing the volume of targeted traffic to a site. One of the ways of doing this is by distributing interesting content to ezine lists and article announcement lists. It is not too difficult to quickly build a list that reaches a million or so email boxes and can thus give a lot of visibility and drive tons of highly targetd traffic to your Adsense site or sites. Probably the most popular place for doing this is at Yahoo groups, but there are a few others that you can find easily by using your favorite search engine.

Success here depends on three main factors. Firstly you should be careful to join article announcement lists and ezine lists that are as relevant as possible to your subject matter and offering. Secondly your headline has to be a killer headline that will grab readers by the scruffs of their necks and force them to open your email message amongst the dozens or even hundreds of others they receive daily. It goes without saying that the content must meet the promise of your sensational headline. Anything less will cause annoyance and leave all those potential visitors to your Adsense site feeling cheated. And believe me, you don’t want to cause this sort of reaction because it is definitely not one of the ways o make money from Adsense or any other program for that matter. Thirdly, you will need the sort of resource box in all your articles that will leave most of your readers with no option but to visit your Adsense site.

Within a very short of consistently applying this technique, my daily Adsense earnings increased seven-fold.

b) Ways to make money from Adsense by Distributing free articles to high traffic article sites Some people find the recent trends that have seen an increase in article sites surprising. I don’t. The net is primarily an information-seeking tool. Anything that will help improve the search and quality of information will greatly benefit the people making that effort.

Some of the older article directories receive very high traffic, mainly from web masters and site owners seeking quality free content for their sites. So apart from the immediate exposure these sites also guarantee plenty of future targeted traffic to your site, when folks find your articles useful enough to re-post at their sites.

The more new articles you release to these sites every week, the more targeted traffic your Adsense sites will receive. This is in fact one of the most effective ways of making money consistently from Adsense clicks. One of the reasons for this is that targeted traffic will tend to spend more time at your site or sites, and the more time they spend, the higher the chances that they will click one one of the Adsense ads posted there.

c) Ways to make money from Adsense by Using Articles And A Viral Marketing Website

Any online marketing technique that involves the use of referral marketing or viral marketing automatically has a huge chance of being a success. The net is ideal for viral marketing and in fact gives any viral marketer huge leverage. Viral marketing or referral marketing is one of the most effective ways to make money online. Just ask Bill Gates.

When Gates was trying to play catch up on the Internet after an earlier mistake of underestimating the future importance of the net, he launched his Hotmail free email service when rivals like Yahoo already had millions of users. He decided to use a simple referral marketing technique. Every Hotmail message that went out had a brief signature at the end requesting the recipient to sign up for their free Hotmail account. Within a few short months, Hotmail had millions of users. And there are many other amazing stories which viral marketing boasts of on the net.

There is one of the very simple ways to make money from Adsense by going viral. Sign up at a leading viral marketing site. You will automatically get your own viral site. You can then use some of your articles to point people to your viral site. The way these sites work is that anybody who signs up at your site will have to visit your Adsense site if you register it at the site. So within a very short time you will be driving thousands of visitors to your Adsense site.

Find more details on this at my blog whose address you'll find in the resource box below.

Admittedly this traffic is less targeted. Still the huge potential and possible numbers you are able to receive using this free tool more than makes up for this.

d) Ways to make money from Adsense With Your Email signature

People greatly underestimate the power and potential effectiveness of a simple email signature as one of the ways to make money online. Actually this is a viral marketing method because emails get forwarded all the time and are even copied to several other people sometimes.

Do not waste another minute. Go to all your email accounts right now and create a signature that points to your Adsense site or sites.

Writing effective email signatures is a skill that you will have to develop, but I have found that using famous quotes is more effective than a straight advertising message. Always remember that people hate to be advertised to online.

e) Ways to make money from Adsense By Asking Questions At Discussion groups

I recently had an interesting conversation with a young Internet and computer techie. He asked me whether there were quick ways to make money online by answering technical questions and helping people to solve their computer and web-related problems. My answer was that there were many discussion groups where participants would get these answers for free. I advised him that he had a better chance of making money by making use of this free advice available online rather than by trying to sell his own advice.

There are tons of online discussion groups where leading world experts will answer your questions and give you valuable insight for free. It is amazing why most people do not think of using these online forums to learn as much as they can about the most effective ways of making money from Adsense.

These forums can easily be found through you favorite search engine.

f) Ways to make money from Adsense By Bartering your online skills for valuable Adsense keywords

In the old days, before the invention of money, if somebody needed something, the first question they asked themselves was; “What is it that I already have that I can exchange for what I need? Barter trade seems to have been forgotten but it is a very powerful method of trading. More so online where people have plenty of skills but are slow to trust others enough to send them money for an item they need.

You can barter whatever it is you have, your skills, products or services, and exchange them for genuine valuable Adsense keywords. Valuable Adsense keywords are the most effective way for a small site with low traffic to earn big cash from Adsense. And you can do this barter trade on an ongoing basis so that you always have a constant supply of valuable Adsense keywords which you can use at your site or blog as one of the ways to make more money from Adsense.

g) Ways to make money from Adsense By Sending Teaser Emails

To Everybody In Your Inbox And Also To Your Opt-in Email List Most of us receive tons of email in our inbox every day. You’ll be surprised at the huge number of people you know by simply going through your email inbox. No matter how good your spam filters are, you are also bound to be receiving more than your fare share of SPAM or unsolicited email. All this is “gold” lying in your email inbox and there are ways to make money using these emails. All you need to do to process the emails into pure gold is to send out “teaser emails about the most interesting aspects of content at your site. The whole objective of teaser emails is to get people to visit your site. For instance if I were to send out teaser email on this content here is how I would construct it;

$1 Million in Google AdSense Earnings

They are calling him the million dollar man. Jason Calacanis recently revealed in his blog that he is on track to earn a million dollars from AdSense over the year ahead.

And if that number doesn’t wake you up and have you sitting on the edge of your seat, consider for a moment that he reached this level in less than a year. His company only started using AdSense in September 2004.

Calacanis runs Weblogs Inc., a network dedicated to creating trade weblogs across niche industries. And he’s quickly proven that AdSense is a credible advertising partner.

As their network has grown, so has their AdSense revenue. In January 2005 they earned an average of $580 per day. In March it was $737. In May it was $1,585. One day in July, just before he made the blog entry referred to above, they earned $2,335. Remember that is just for one day. If they can take that daily average to $2,740 they’ll be earning a rate of $1 million for a year. And Calacanis predicts that reaching daily earnings of $3,000 or even $5,000 is quite achievable.

That’s quite an achievement. Keep in mind that Calacanis has 103 bloggers on the payroll and nine staffers. Even so, many webmasters would give an arm or a leg to have even a third of that.

Google’s AdSense has been revolutionary. It has become firmly established as the darling of the online advertising industry. Although rumors are heard of major competitors launching a similar service, AdSense’s premier position seems secure for now.

In essence, AdSense has made it possible for almost anyone with a web site or blog to earn some revenue from advertising, without having to employ sales people or spend precious time searching for advertisers.

AdSense works like this. Webmasters sign up for an account in just a few minutes. They receive a small snippet of code to include on their web pages. Google will then automatically serve advertisements that are relevant to the content on the webmaster's pages. When someone visits the webmaster's site and clicks on one of Google's AdSense advertisements, the webmaster earns a fee. Advertisers can pay anywhere from five cents to a hundred dollars per click, and the webmaster receives a percentage of that fee.

Many webmasters are content with earning five to ten dollars from AdSense to cover the cost of web hosting. But many, unsurprising, have higher ambitions. At a popular WebmasterWorld forum, participants share tips and encouragement on reaching a goal of $300 per day from AdSense. So it is no wonder that Calacanis created quite a buzz when he made his million dollar blog entry.

Google have proven once again that they excel at designing innovative Internet services. If you are in the web industry and have not yet used AdSense, then perhaps you should try it out. Or if you are already using it, perhaps Calacanis’ impressive results will encourage you to track the performance of your AdSense units more closely, fine tune their positions and formats, and take your earnings to a new level.

Adsense Tips, Layout Optimization Tricks for Higher CTR

Google Adsense is perhaps the easiest way to attract advertisers from across the globe to your blog. Just submit your blog to Google for approval. If Google likes what it sees, it will place contextual ads linking to products likely to appeal to the readers. Each time a reader clicks a link, the advertiser pays Google a small fee, and Google splits that with you. The next interesting question - How to Make Money with Google Adsense ? Here are The best Google Adsense Tips and Tricks for making more money (profit) from Google adsense program.

a. Strictly follow the rules mentioned in Adsense policies. You will always earn more revenue from Adsense by playing it clean.

b. Never modify the Google Adsense HTML code.

c. Don't ask your friends or visitors to click on your Google ads. Do not include incentives of any kind for users to click on ads. Don't label the Google ads with text other than "sponsored links" or "advertisements.".

d. Don't click on your own ads - Google is much smarter than you think. You should not reload your pages excessively. If you are testing your website layout with Google adsense, follow some precautions . Or you can use the unofficial Google Adsense Sandbox Tool that is accessible from Firefox, IE and other browsers to see what kind of Google ads will be served based on content (website address URL) or keywords.

e. Don't place ads in pop-up windows, error pages or even empty pages.

f. Don't start a "adsense asbestos" or "home equity loan rates" website merely to make money from accidental clicks (accidence). You will never make money out these "made-for-adsense-only" websites. Instead, write on topics what you are passionate about. Don't waste your money on high-paying adsense keywords lists.

g. For short articles, CTR is best when ads are placed just above the content

h. For long articles, CTR improves if ads are placed somewhere in middle of the content - visitors read the long content and then they are looking for more resources.

i. Use Text Ads instead of Image Ads as users get more options. If you still want to display image ads, consider ad formats that support image ads - Choose either the 300x250 medium rectangle or the 160x600 wide skyscraper - or both, if you display multiple ad units on a page.

j. Google Ads without background color and borders always perform better. Make the border color and background color same as your page background color.

k. Always put ads above the main fold. Make sure that the ad unit with the highest clickthrough rate is the first instance of the ad code that appears in the HTML. Since the first ad unit is always filled before the rest, you want to make sure that ad unit is located in the best placement on your page.

l. Try setting the ad link URL color to a lighter shade. If your text is black, you may make the adlink as light gray.

m. Go Wide - The large rectangle is the best paying adsense format (336x280) - The Google Adsense Publisher team also feels that the best formats are the wider ones - the ad formats that contain the widest individual ads. Try using the 336x280 large rectangle, 300x250 medium rectangle, or 160x600 wide skyscraper.

n. Placing images next to ads or above ads does help in attracting user attention.

o. Blend AdLinks with other navigation links or place horizontal adlinks at the top of your webpage. AdSense publishers are permitted to click on link unit topics on their web pages, provided that they do not click on any Google ads on the resulting page.

p. Organize an Adsense Party for your friends and colleagues - Request them to navigate your website, watch their activity - it will provide vital clues about which regions on your website draw more user attention. Try putting ads near those areas. (Thanks Darren)

q. You can put upto 3 adsense units on a page. Try putting a large skyscraper on the right navigation sidebar of your website. That area is close to the browser scrollbar. You can also add 2 AdSense for search boxes, 1 adlink unit and 1 referral button per product (i.e., 1 AdSense referral button and 1 Firefox plus Google Toolbar referral button).

r. The first few lines of your content are an important factor for determining what Ads are served on your webpage. That's the right place to put keywords in bold (strong or tags) or header tags (h1, h2, etc).

s. Always select the setting to open Google Adsense search box results in a new browser window, so you won't lose your visitors. Click the Open search results in a new browser window checkbox and this add target="google_window" to your form tag.

t. Maximum people think the search box is on the top right corner. So you know where to put it.

u. Don't syndicate full content. If people can read everything from the newsreader window itself, why would they visit your website where your ads are.

v. Use URL channels to determine performance of individual pages. I track my most popular pages with Google Analytics, Statcounter and create a channel for each of the URL. You can even track Adsense Clicks with Analytics

w. For low CTR pages, try changing titles or adding more content to get better focused ads

x. Block low paying advertisers with Filters. Why to loose a visitor for 0.01 cents. Use Overture or Google Adwords Keywords tool to discover keywords that are less popular with advertisers.

y. The AdSense for search Top Queries report shows you what your users are looking for, by listing the 25 most common searches conducted through your AdSense for search boxes. Use this report to identify additional topics to add to your site, or to keep track of your most sought-after information. Focus and improve that content.

z. Not everyone has a RSS reader. Use RSS to Email services like FeedBlitz, Bloglet or Rmail to let users subscribe to your blog by email.Remember, you are the best judge when it comes to choosing ad formats. Even Google doesn't offer the best advise always. For instance, in the visual heat map, Google suggests that webmasters are best served by positioning ads on the upper left-hand side of a Web page. But on the Google homepage, you will find ads on the far right.

Increase revenue by Google AdSense Pay-Per Click (PPC) service

Quite like search engine optimization, PPC advertising is a lot about getting the basics right. If you have solid foundations, your campaigns will invariably be a success. Let's go through the core elements of any PPC campaign.
PPC advertising allows you to bring traffic to your website in just minutes .
PPC pays for itself AND your other SEM expenses (like link-building) while leaving you a decent profit margin .

Keyword Research

When compiling your keyword list, consider using a professional tool such as WordTracker or NicheBot instead of coming up with all the keywords yourself. Why? Because quite frankly, no one has the time to manually compile a list of several hundred keywords. Also, these tools will tell you exactly what people are searching for AND give you a lot more options that you may never have even thought of. Using either WordTracker or NicheBot, you can easily compile a keyword list of even a thousand keywords in under an hour.Another tool that I highly recommend is a program called Keyword Locator.
You can have a look at that program below. It does a heck of a lot more than WordTracker and Nichebot.Once you have your keyword list ready, break it down into sub-lists. Essentially, instead of lumping together all the keywords, you can use the main keywords as “headers build your list around them. These headers will be the keywords receiving the most traffic. To give you an example, take an online soccer store. Possible headers would include adsense pay rate , Google AdSense , adsense pay per click text ads, pay per click, Yahoo AdSense, pay per click advertising and even overture pay per click. All these terms have hundreds of related keywords .

What's the advantage of creating sub-lists? For one, it helps you focus your campaign even further – you can send visitors clicking on your “Google AdSense ads to an internal page on your store that is dedicated to Google AdSense, and so on. Second, your campaign becomes more manageable – if one theme of keywords is not working well, you can improve it without affecting the rest of the lists.
However, the most important reason to using sub-lists is that you can create ads that are customized towards your header keywords. An ad for overture pay per click will not be as effective as an ad for pay per click if they both appeared next to search results for the term Yahoo AdSense. Customized ads will give you higher click-through rates , and a high ad CTR can help lower overall costs .
Ad Copy
Your ad copy will make or break your pay per click campaign, so it is important to get it just right. There are two sections of your ad, the title (or the heading), and the ad description . Apart from adhering to the basics (place your sub-list “header once in the title, and once in the description), there is a lot to learn about writing winning ad copy. Think of PPC ads as intensely summarized version of a regular sales letter – approach ad copy with that view will help you write better.
The ad copy has two key components – a riveting title/header, and a compelling description. Taking Google's example, you have space to write 25 characters in the title, and two lines of 35 characters each in the description. Eventually, writing winning ad copy boils down to convincing the skeptical searcher into clicking on your ad (amongst several others) in a maximum of 95 characters.
Put each ad that you write through a stricter test than you would put your sales letter. The title is the key to attracting the searcher's attention – if it contains the keywords that are being searched for, the keywords will show up in bold and help make the ad more visible. The description, on the other hand, has just two short lines to convince the searcher to click on the ad. Focus on the user and the benefits your website / product will provide. If it helps, you can make a bulleted list of key terms that highlight your business and spread them throughout your ads.
Use the title to grab the searcher's attention , and then reel them in with your ad description. If you follow the principles you have used to write your sales letter, you'd be at an advantage compared to most of your competition.
Ad Optimization
Setting up the ad campaign is, believe it or not, the easy part. Managing it is tricky (though your work is reduced if you get the basics right). There are two main challenges facing a PPC campaign:
You don't know how well your ads will work
You don't know which keywords will convert into sales
The result is that managing a PPC campaign is a continuing process of tweaking your ads based on results – it ultimately involves regular improvements in your ad copy, to keyword lists and maybe even in your website.
The main aim of managing a PPC campaign is to constantly try to increase your CTR . While the quick and dirty way to do this is to pay high enough to rank on the top of the ads list, this can easily break your budget. A better option is to regularly review your ads, weed out the ones that don't work and improve on the ones that do work. Like sales letters, this involves reusing the working elements (titles and descriptions) and modifying them slightly to test if the CTR improves.
